Tom Alexander on John Dewey, Democracy and Education (Part Two)

Last month, Tom Alexander was interviewed by to discuss the life and times of education reformer, moralist and philosopher, John Dewey.  Nearly 30 years ago, Alexander wrote a seminal book about Dewey, entitled John Dewey’s Theory of Art, Experience and Nature: The Horizons of Feeling. 

Alexander is a faculty member of Department of Philosophy at Southern Illinois University, and he’s also co-director of the Center for Dewey Studies, and is as well a former president of the Society for the Advancement of American Philosophy.

Part One of the interview can be found here, and now in Part Two, Alexander and I first discuss his more recent book, published in 2013.  The book is entitled The Human Eros: Eco-ontology and the Aesthetics of Existence, and here’s what Alexander had to say about it:
